Benefits of Sugaring vs. Waxing
We are often asked about the differences between sugaring and waxing and why our clients prefer sugaring so strongly. There are several major differences between the two:
1. Sugar paste is all natural and composed of just three ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon juice. This makes it a great option for those with sensitive skin or allergies.
2. Sugar paste cannot adhere to live skin cells, which means it is much less likely to cause irritation or damage to the skin.
3. Sugar paste is removed in the direction of hair growth, which is less painful and less likely to cause breakage or ingrown hairs.
4. Sugar paste is kept warm, but never hot, which means it is much more comfortable for clients.
5. Sugaring leads to permanency, as it weakens the hair follicle over time, resulting in finer and sparser hair growth.
About Reagan
Owner Reagan Sotelo is a licensed Esthetician and certified Sugarist with a passion for providing excellent hair removal services in a safe and welcoming environment. Reagan is a Douglas J Aveda Institute graduate and has been a licensed esthetician since 2017. She fell in love with sugaring during her first full-time sugaring position in Grand Rapids and opened Sugaring by Reagan in 2018. Reagan is dedicated to fostering a trauma-sensitive approach to everything we do at the spa and works hard to think outside the box to come up with creative and compassionate solutions to meet the individual needs of each client.
About Lauren
Lead Sugarist Lauren Sherburn is a licensed Esthetician and trained Sugarist who joined the Sugaring by Reagan team in 2021. Lauren loves being able to help women of all different backgrounds feel their best and finds her job to be truly rewarding. When she's not at work, Lauren can be found spending time with friends and family or shopping.
About La'Rais
Sugarist La'Rais Clopton is a licensed Esthetician who joined the Sugaring by Reagan team in 2022. La'Rais grew up watching her mother as a Cosmetologist and knew she wanted to work in the beauty industry. She is passionate about making sure all her clients feel relaxed and at ease and enjoys helping them feel their best.
