What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the science of permanent hair removal, using a minute amount of electricity and gently applying it into the hair follicle. This process destroys the hair cells and hair roots in the follicle and permanently eliminates its regenerative ability. There are three modalities used: Thermolysis, or short wave, produces heat in the follicle and destroys hair growth cells. Galvanic is a chemical process. The blend combines the Galvanic and Thermolysis currents. Thermolysis heats up the chemical action in the follicle, destroying hair growth cells.

Our Services

At Fischer Advanced Electrolysis, we offer a range of services tailored to meet the needs of our clients. Our services include permanent hair removal for women, pregnant women, teens, and individuals with hormonal changes and PCOS. We understand that everyone's hair growth patterns are different, and we take the time to understand each client's unique needs and preferences.

Treatment Details

Before arriving at your treatment, we recommend avoiding caffeine, not plucking or tweezing, and not shaving for 2-3 days before your appointment. Your first appointment will include a consultation with LeAnn to discuss the area you wish to have treated and the process you will be going through, as well as a brief medical history. You may wish to schedule treatment immediately after your consultation or at a later date.

Hormonal Changes and PCOS

There are three times in a woman's life when hair growth can become an issue due to hormonal changes: puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) can also cause excessive hair growth. We understand the challenges these hormonal changes can bring and offer specialized treatments to address these issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I choose electrolysis over other hair removal methods?

A. Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method, and it is recognized as such by the FDA.

Q. How many treatments are needed?

A. The number of treatments varies with each client. Factors such as hair growth, cycles, heredity, hormone function, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, certain medications, and stress influence the treatment program for each individual.

Q. Are all hairs eliminated with one treatment?

A. Deep, coarse hair cannot permanently be eliminated in one treatment, so treating the hair growth cells and roots will require additional treatments.

Q. What does electrolysis feel like?

A. The treatments can sting, but individual tolerances vary greatly. Even a sensitive person should be able to tolerate the treatments. The sting is quick and is then over.

Q. Can hairs be removed from moles?

A. Electrolysis can be performed in most moles, but with written permission from a physician/dermatologist after the area has been examined by the practitioner.

Q. Can electrolysis be done on breasts?

A. Yes. This is a common area of unwanted hair for women of all ages. 90% of women have breast hair. However, the subject is seldom discussed. Electrolysis can remove it permanently, even from around the areola (the area around the nipple) Professionally performed electrolysis safely and permanently eliminates unwanted hair from the breasts and other sensitive areas with unsurpassed results.

Q. Does it hurt there?

A. Most women are highly motivated to have the hair on their breasts removed and accept the treatments quite well.

Q. What about darker skin?

A. Dark skin can be challenging for some hair removal methods but not for electrolysis.

Q. Will electrolysis cause dark spots on my skin?

A. Temporary hyperpigmentation (dark spots) is the darker skin equivalent of the temporary redness sometimes experienced by those of lighter skin. If you have been tweezing the hair, the irritation can cause dark spots. The dark spots are a sign that the skin is doing its job and healing the irritated area; they will fade over time. Do not use bleaching cream on these areas, as this can cause light spots (hypopigmentation) when the skin returns to normal.

At Fischer Advanced Electrolysis, we are dedicated to providing the best permanent hair removal solutions to our clients. We understand the importance of self-esteem and confidence, and we are committed to helping our clients achieve the hair-free life they desire.
